May and why I love Fairplay

May is crazy, every parent knows this. This May was no different, just stuffed with gobs of things to attend and finish up and all that. Luckily I was able to attend Josh's field day despite a very busy work week. He had a blast and it was a really nice day so I didn't mind. This was our first Field Day at Runyon, his new elementary school since they closed Whitman last year. He's transitioned well I think, though I admit I laughed at a few of the kids from his former school wearing their new Runyon shirts...which they used sharpie on the back of saying "I will always be a Whitman Wolf!" LOL, a little good rebellious spirit exists in the younger generation I'd say.



Joel was honored at his Middle School for getting two Silver Medals at the State TSA competition this year. He ended up going to Baltimore for Nationals.


Also the obligatory end of year concerts were held in May. Joel looking oh so excited that he was the only Cello player that day as the other boy broke his wrist! He does surprisingly well considering how much he does not practice!


Brynna sitting in the hot sun during Heritage High School's Graduation ceremony. You can tell she's a Freshman and hasn't done this before...look at the older classmen with their earphones in. Clearly they knew how long they'd have to sit out there before it began! She got a sunburn on one arm, but they did a nice job and it was nice for me to get to see some of my Young Women graduate.


Finally, school is out! We got to go to the cabin for some relaxation over Memorial Day. Joel...do I need to mention that he is obsessed with fire?


And he's obsessed with our ATV! He was super excited to reach the 1000 mark and stopped so I could take a picture.


SouthPark, CO...the real one. Beautiful.


I don't think the sky is ever as fantastically blue and beautiful anywhere in the world sometimes when we're up there. Maybe it's because we're above 10,000 feet but it is breathtaking.

When I get very stressed out, there's nothing like just a walk in the forest to calm the soul.
